You found me in the deepest pit
By forces of evil thrown down
I have to tell, I have to admit:
They stole my mind, they stole my crown.
No horizon was I able to see
The dark side penetrated my vision
I was lost; all was lost to me
YOU came and restored my reason.
Why I was there? It’s painful to say
Wanted to taste the exciting pleasure
I threw in the dirt the flower of May
Hoping to find a wonderful treasure.
The feeling was heavy; I couldn’t go
Wrapped in nightmare and crying
Went down in the layers below
Waiting for a well deserved dying.
It happened fast: a heavenly presence
Was all around me and within
A gentle touch stirred my existence
On Your shoulders I was asked to lean.
A glowing face was giving the light
That entered my soul and my thinking
You embraced me holding me tight
And slowly walked together singing.
Dead is the wish to go again
To deepest pit of madness and worry
To all You say I’ll say “Amen”
Cause that word is for His glory.
